Introduction

Gamefly is an online service for renting the Video Games for your Wii, PS3, XBOX 360, and hand held systems. Gamefly makes it easy to rent, receive and return your games, through the use of their packaging. I will explain in this article how to use gamefly, including signing up and using your Game Q. With Gamefly you get over 7,000 titles to choose from and can keep your games for as long as you like without the worry of late fees. Customer Service is very helpful when you call them, they don't give you a problem or put you on hold to much. They usually have the answer to your questions in a few minutes. Like any service you must be 18 and have a Major Credit card to sign up for Gamefly, one bad thing is they do not accept paypal debit card.

Games are shipped from one of five major shipping centers, Los Angeles CA, Pittsburgh PA, Tampa FL, Austin TX and Seattle WA. The closer you are to one of these the centers the sooner the games come in. Normally they take about 3-4 days to come in the mail through the USPS.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy with Gamefly, you will need only a few minutes of time to go through the process and set up your account. Simply go to www.gamefly.com and click on the joystick in the upper right hand corner of the page. If you seen an ad on TV here is where you will enter the code that you seen to get an extended trial. Afterwords you will need to put in your personal information which includes

  • Email Address
  • Password
  • Name
  • Address
  • City, State and Zip code
  • Phone Number
  • And Credit Card information
  • Choose your subscription plan meaning 1, 2, or 3 games out a month.

Once you have completed these steps you are on your way to getting some of the best games out there and save a lot of money per month on them.

Whats the Game Q?

The GameQ is where all your games are located that you wish to order, when you log in to your GameQ on Gamefly.com you will see all the games you checked. Remember though you only get the amount of games per month that you signed up for, you can change this at anytime. Games are shipped as they come available at the shipping centers, normally the shipping center that you are given will be the one you will receive your games from unless a game comes open at another location. While you are in your GameQ you can also change the order of the games putting them how you would like to, if you decide that you want to move a game up in Q you can simple scroll over the game and hold the left mouse button down and move it to where you want.

Is there an APP for that?

Of course, Gamefly offers an APP for your Android, Iphone and Palm Devices so you can check your account out anytime. You can also use the APP to watch trailers, find out the latest news on games and even add, remove and re-arrange games in your GameQ on the fly. No need to be at your computer. The APP is free and has a good interface which is easy to navigate.

Ok, so what's the price?

Gameflys prices are a steal in a sense as unlike the Video Game or Movie Rental store you don't have late fees and you don't have to return them in a week or a few days. You can keep the games as long as you like and your Credit Card is billed monthly.

1 Game a Month- $15.95 plus any applicable taxes

2 Games a Month- $22.95 plus any applicable taxes

Do I get deals on games?

Yes, with Gamefly you can purchase pre-owned games that you have in your home for below market price, though not all games are for sale. You can also trade in your old games for Gamefly credit and get even better deals on game purchases. One you purchase a game Gamefly will ship out the manual and the case to you are no extra charge, so it is like going to the game store and buying the game you want and getting the whole package.

I had Gamefly and constantly got mad at them because it'd take a week sometimes 2 weeks to ship out the next game in my Q. Then 1 day after I mailed back Medal of Honor they sent me an e-mail saying that I damaged the disc (which I didn't). I replied with an angry e-mail saying that I didn't damage the disc that it was already scratched up and that they shouldn't ship out scratched up discs. I then told them to kill themselves and cancelled my subscription.

Thanks for the comment, I have heard from friends that they had a similar issue with Gamefly, I personally have had no issues, I got one disc that was scratched up and called them to tell them and they had me send it back and sent out another copy of the disk to me.
