Call of Duty: Black OPS Free For All Mode
72Call of Duty: Black OPS has many different multiplayer modes, though I will be covering Free-For-All with this hub. Free-for-All is when all the players are pitted against one another, you don't have any teammates to rely on. This gamemode is all about winning and nothing more; you worry about yourself and no one else. A high kill count is not only going to help you improve your ranking, but will also keep your Kill/Death Ratio decent. From some point players will need to figure out what class load out fits them, meaning that you should design your weapon class to fit each type of play.
Most of the action in Free-For-All consists of moving around the map as quick as possible and not getting caught off guard. All the kills you acquire in FFA help you get closer to a game winning victory, so to win one need an offensive mind set. Unlike Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All takes a little more skill to achieve a ranking in the top three. If players see a weakness in another they will continue to attack and if you are that weak player, well your going to be dieing a lot.
For new players to any of the Call of Duty games, Free-For-All is the way to learn, not only can you test out a new load out but you can also get to form a style of play that fits you. Most of the map on FFA are smaller than what would be played on Team Deathmatch; this is not saying you wont get a larger map. Becoming familiar with each map and learning the spawn spots and the sniper locations will also help you to improve in Free-For-All.
Whats a Good Class?
A mobile class is effective for most FFA games, due to the fact that they give you the ability to move about without being slowed down by large weapons. Sub-Machine Guns and Rifles work the best as they have a good rate of fire and don't slow you down. Your perks should be setup to keep you moving and virtually undetectable by enemy HUD.
With your FFA class you should also have at least one offensive killstreak reward and one defensive. For your first few kills a Spy Plane is great to call in to locate enemy positions on the map, this will make it easier to kill them.
Now remember a good class is not just something you find around the net, a good class is one that works best for you and your style of play. With your primary weapon you should attach a silencer to keep your off the map when you shoot.
Perks and Kill Streak Rewards
Ghost- Keeps you hidden from enemy spy planes, allowing for you to continue to move along the map with detection. Taking aim and getting the kill.
-
Light Weight- Move Faster
-
Slight of Hand- Reload your weapon faster
-
Ninja- Move Silently
Those are just three good perks to have in your class as they work effective; though a lot of players have come up with better sets and they work well. Ask your friends what they use and build around what you feel is good.
-
Spy Plane- Allows you to see all enemy positions on the map.
